About the Item

Napoleon III mantel garniture composed of a clock and a pair of candlesticks, executed in finely chased gilt bronze with rich polychrome cloisonné enamel decoration. The ensemble is richly ornamented with mascarons, floral garlands, scrolling foliage and molded bases, enhanced by cloisonné panels predominantly in blue tones. The clock is topped with a lidded vase and rests on an architectural base with scrolling feet. The candlesticks, with elegantly curved arms, echo the same decorative vocabulary, creating a harmonious and impressive set. A high-quality decorative work, characteristic of the eclectic taste of the late 19th century, in the spirit of prestigious Parisian productions.
