About the Item

The table clock was made using the casting technique, by assembling and soldering numerous small silver pieces that make up its structure. The clock is raised four feet off the tabletop by figures depicting women's faces. The base and body of the clock feature a scroll design that was finely chiseled after casting. The rectangular dome is carved with pod motifs and features a frieze at the top center. The clock, which features Arabic numerals, has a mechanical movement that can be wound using the special steel key provided. The winding mechanism is accessed from the front through a hinged silver and glass door, while the clock mechanism is accessed from the back through a hinged round door that opens easily. Made in Milan, Italy, at the end of the 20th century by Argenteria Mil - Or di Orefice for ARVAL ARGENTI VALENZA
