About the Item

A charming English silver and guilloche enamel strut clock, dating to the Art Deco period. The circular silver case is beautifully adorned with translucent turquoise blue guilloche enamel over and engine turned ground, producing a shimmering wave like effect that catches the light wonderfully from every angle. At the centre, a gilt bronze dial, with engine turned centre and arabic numerals and spade hands. These compact desk and boudoir clocks were produced in England during the interwar years as elegant dressing table or writing desk accessories, often retailed by fine jewellers and silversmiths in London. Although the hallmarks are now rubbed through polishing and age, the quality of the silver mount and vivid translucent enamel are particularly pleasing. A highly decorative piece of English Art Deco silver, combining refined craftsmanship with bold period design.

An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique Swiss silver and pink enamel miniature boudoir clock; an addition to our silver timepiece collection. This exceptional antique Swiss silver miniature boudoir clock has a plain rectangular form. The surface of this impressive antique clock is embellished with impressive pink guilloche enamel panels, framed with plain broad sterling silver borders. The upper portion of the enamel clock is fitted with an angular carrying handle. The enamel dial of the clock is ornamented with black hour numerals, encircled with plain black chapter ring of minute markers and fitted with shaped pink hands. The face of this timepiece is visible through a circular glass 'window' with a plain applied silver border. The hinged door and opens to reveal the original movement. The clock movement is fitted with an incorporated hinged winding key, featuring a shaped handle with a lobed fingerpiece.
