Crafted from exquisitely cut crystal glass, the angular body culminates in a gently curving well, providing a resting spot for a dip pen. The geometric star motif etched under the base reflects Jugendstil's embrace of stylized floral and graphic designs. Capped by a domed 800 silver lid bearing german silver marks, a crescent moon and crown, the monochromatic palette allows the exceptional clarity of the crystal and expert wheel engraving to take center stage. Jugendstil, or the german Art Nouveau, prized superlative craftsmanship and simple, elegant forms. This sculptural inkwell encapsulates these ideals through its masterfully cut crystal glass and ornate silverwork, resulting in a harmonious interplay between materials, form and decoration.
