About the Item

We are pleased to offer for sale an elegant Italian tabletop picture frame from the 1970s. Still featuring its original adhesive label, this vintage piece is part of a collection of home accessories designed—or at least produced—by Alberto Sordi, one of the most iconic figures in mid-20th-century Italian cinema. The frame features a distinctive and uncommon square format. Its bold, curved outer frame measures 25 cm x 25 cm (approximately 9.8" x 9.8"), with an inner photo opening of 11 cm x 11 cm (approximately 4.3" x 4.3"). Crafted from a plastic material that very convincingly mimics mother-of-pearl, the piece is accented with gold-toned brass details, creating a striking and glamorous contrast. A clear lucite stand with brass accents adds a refined and functional finish, making this a stylish and sophisticated object that perfectly captures the essence of 1970s Italian luxury design—a style championed by names such as Gabriella Crespi, Tommaso Barbi, Romeo Rega, and Sandro Petti.
