About the Item

Pair of antique embroidered frames, rectangular shape, in ivory colored silk satin with embroidery in cotton and gold lamé of floral elements and love knots. These are devotional monastic Italian artworks dating back to the second half of the 1700s, coming from Central Italy. Inside both frames, we find two oval-shaped half-bust effigies of saints, similar to relics, hand-made of salt dough, one broken and glued, decorated with the inscription on paper, di più ss. Mart. The ovals are fixed on small panels covered in fabric, one framed by trimmings. One frame is slightly smaller. They are presented on a wooden red painted wooden panel. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago requires a governative license for export called Belle Arti. The shipping may require additional 2-3 handling weeks to require and get the license according to the final destination of the artwork.
