About the Item

This stunning abstract gilded bronze sculpture of a seagull or other sea bird in flight is by Thai artist Hattakitkosol Somchai (1934-2000). The detailing and sheer size make this gorgeous statuette a major centerpiece in any decor. The solid bronze figurine is beautifully executed and sits on a square marble base pedestal. The asymmetric placement of the bronze sculpture on its base accentuates the flying movement. The high-quality artist's piece is signed "Somchai" and numbered 526. Dimensions: The overall dimensions are 4.75 in wide (12 cm) by 3.94 in deep (10 cm) by 16.94 in high (43 cm). Bronze alone is 4.32 in wide (11 cm) by 1.57 in deep (4 cm) by 513 in high (33 cm). Note: Hattakitkosol Somchai was a Thai Asian Mid-Century Modern, Modern, and Contemporary painter and artist, born in 1934 in Thailand, who passed away in 2000. Somchai's personal life and professional training remain lost in history.
