About the Item

Pajaros Cuervo Bronze Finished Clay Sculpture by Sebastián Ángeles Dimensions: D 15 x W 14 x H 24 cm Materials: Clay bronze finish What greater symbol of freedom is there than the act of flying? Watching birds has become a daily meditation—a constant reminder of the fullness that comes from feeling free, of that fragility that can lift us up and make us untouchable, as if nothing could stop us. Sebastián Angeles is an Industrial Designer originally from Mexico City who graduated from the Anáhuac Mexico University in 2017, but his career began years before, so at twenty-six, Sebastián is already director and co-founder of the Dorica brand, a member of Mass Collective and now one of the youngest designers in the BREUER catalogue. Sebastián's work reflects the search for new sensations through the objects of everyday life, based on the belief that the union of basic elements can create completely new objects and sensations. Sebastián believes that beauty is not exclusive to complex forms, but is also found in the configuration of subtle forms, resulting in objects that people make their own, acquiring qualities that go beyond luxury. BREUER is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of custom furniture and spaces, which began in 1993 in Mexico City under the direction of Arturo Verástegui. Since the beginning of the nineties Arturo Verástegui, founder of the company, began his career in the world of furniture: beginning with the distribution and manufacture of residential furniture and with more than a decade of experience in commercial furniture, BREUER was born with a strong industrial and trade vocation. That is only one part of our history, the other began almost 100 years ago with the architect and designer Marcel Breuer, from whom our name arises. But it is not only the name that we take from Marcel Breuer, but also his modernist ideals and the desire to implement the latest in manufacturing technology is his designs. Sebastian Angeles design philosophy revolves around creating furniture pieces that go beyond mere form and function. His aim is to design objects with a lasting impact, pieces that possess a meaningful narrative and connection to the user. He believes in the importance of understanding the history and cultural context of the materials he works with, treating them with respect and showcasing their inherent beauty. Sebastian’s designs exhibit meticulous attention to detail, reflecting his commitment to quality craftsmanship. His work often features a harmonious blend of natural and contemporary elements, resulting in a style that is uniquely identifiable as his own. By combining minimalist forms with organic influences drawn from nature, he creates furniture that evokes a sense of timelessness and invites contemplation.
