About the Item

Originally a wall-mounted sculpture of a wild boar, dating to circa 1965, this French bronze can also be repurposed into a unique base for a table lamp. Surrounded by textured vegetation and partial forelegs, the boar’s face is well-detailed, with visible fur bristles and expressive eyes. The bronze has a great patina, with traces of verdigris dotting the golden metal. In addition to being a sculptural wall mount or a lamp base, our gilt bronze boar can also be presented as a decorative “trophy” in a library or living room.

Cast in England in the 1900s using reconstituted stone, this charming pig and four piglets statue has developed a lovely weathered patina from exposure to the elements. Reconstituted stone is organic stone that has been crushed into small bits (if you look closely, you can still see pebble inclusions within the casting).
