About the Item

Fascinating, almost antique, piece of Venetian Murano glass attributed to Ercole Barovier, circa 1930s/1940s. This rather unusual looking turtle or tortoise sculpture, similar to the other animal sculptures from the Primavera designs, was purchased from an estate sale of the Pauly & Co furnace, which was located opposite the Barovier e Toso furnace, and was sitting on the desk of Mr Andrea Boscaro, former owner of the company. It is our belief that this may have been gifted to the Pauly and Co company by Barovier directly. It is of the utmost quality and workmanship - showing many of the top ancient Murano glass making master techniques. Would make a wonderful, very special, holiday season gift or Christmas present.
