Pair of terracotta French busts resting on circular marble bases, 19th century, signed on the back. The refined pair of busts depicts a man and a woman who have been paired according to the fashion of the mid-18th century in France. The pretty young woman has her hair gathered according to the taste that is unleashed at the court of King Louis XV. She is wearing a simple dress that rests lightly on the neckline. The man wears his hair tied back in a low tail tied with a bow. He wears an open jacket that shows off the rich Rococo style shirt. The objects are accompanied by a “Certificate of Authenticity”.
