About the Item

This lovely little lamp depicting a gilt bronze bust of a maiden looking into a stone room with bars certainly is an allegorical tale. Her distinct rich free flowing hair commands your attention. The room does light up and creates an interesting scene to be viewed at nighttime. The bronze is signed by one of the most respected and coveted artists of the art nouveau movement, Georges Flamand. A fine example of a period art nouveau sculpture.
