21st Century unique sculptural lamp Lady Red by Fantôme Patinated oxidized copper; Gold tilting reflector Removable cabochon for a golden or red colour h. 37.4’’ x ø 13.8’’ One-off, signed, delivered with a certificate of authenticity From the artist’s «geometric» serie, this Sculptural Lamp in patinated zinc and its reflector in gold leaf, pays tribute to the grace and voluptuousness of the feminine gente who radiates both on her environment and her loved ones. The love of women and the passion for light design led Francis Terrade alias "Fantôme" to the representation of the female body, which he sought to reproduce in motion, coupled to a light reflector. Copper, long used as a complement to assembly, became the main material of slender and elegant characters, to the point of giving way to bronze for his latest creations. Thus each piece of tinned copper is unique, they give birth to a limited series of works in bronze. For the last three years he has been searching for volume. The technological upheaval of the bulbs and the new standards of accessories forced him to renew. Having always worked in reflection, each piece is wearing a hat for a return of light. A unique inspiration that allows to give life to objects, sculptures or furniture that are gracefully dressed and enveloped by the reflections of its timeless creations. For his last realizations, he cut out and assembled in symmetrical geometry triangles, to make flattened cones. The idea came to him to stretch his cones and to make the strategic parts of the body into several distinct elements which he assembled, until finding ideal proportions. These unique pieces are called "Lady Fusée" or "La Sirène Noire" in French (or "Lady Rocket" and "The Black Mairmaid" in English) Today, like lighthouses, his sculptures become essential works of private collectors.
