About the Item

Representation of a pretty young lady in a softly falling dress, caressing her body as she stretches backwards, lying on a bearskin-covered divan. When the hinged belt is opened, the robe splits and the unclad lady slowly rises with the help of the mechanism hidden in the canapé. Partially gilded and cold painted, based on rectangular, rust-red marble with white inclusions, artist's signature 'C. Kauba' on the side of the bearskin, fully functional lifting mechanism. Excellent and detailed quality of execution, very lifelike representation, as is typical of Viennese bronze art. Designed by CARL KAUBA (1865 - 1922) He was an Austrian sculptor and small-scale sculptor and an important representative of Viennese bronzes. He mainly produced and exported his depictions of cowboys and Indians for the American market of the late 19th and early 20th century. Interesting Vienna Bronze Figurine: Dancing Lady It is a finest figurine - it is a Viennese bronze item. The lady dancer standing on square carpet balances on her left leg whereas right leg is raised. She is clad in short dancing dress with spaghetti straps, both arms are raised. Woman's head is covered with very special headwear. - This bronze figurine is of stunning liveliness (excellent manufacturing quality) !
