About the Item

This is a Bronze Door Knocker. It depicts a patinated bronze oval door knocker with the relief of the head and face of the Medusa. The head covered with curly hair ( snakes bodies ) and some wings at each side at the top. The tails of the snakes tied below the chin. A wide folded ribbon with a cluster of leaves in the center decorates above the oval knocker. A balusters like handle is also adorned with a leaf. The Medusa is an apotropaic symbol used to protect from and ward off the negative.
