About the Item

A finely executed bronze portrait bust by Finnish sculptor Elias Ilkka (1889-1968), signed and dated 1951. The sculpture depicts a distinguished gentleman dressed in a formal suit with a bow tie, rendered with restrained realism and expressive modeling. Ilkka skillfully captures the sitter's calm expression and dignified presence while allowing the textured treatment of the clothing to contrast beautifully with the refined modeling of the face.
