Bronze Sculpture of ’The Meeting’ by John W. Mills

A unique patinated bronze sculpture titled ’The Meeting’ by the acclaimed British sculptor, John W. Mills, stood upon an integral rectangular ebonised base.
The original life-size sculpture of this maquette was commissioned for Harpur Square, Bedford, July 1996, as it was once the front playground of Bedford Modern School and the impressive courtyard of the nineteenth century Gothic Revival building.
Like this scale version, the original depicts a father, with a young child on his shoulders, walking their dog beneath his legs, while collecting three other children from school.
The subject is a striking depiction that represents the bond between a father and his family.
