About the Item

A rare and highly decorative botanical teaching model depicting a Lilium (lily), produced by the renowned German model maker Robert Brendel around 1900. Created for educational use in universities, botanical institutes, and schools, Brendel’s scientifically accurate models are celebrated today for their remarkable craftsmanship and sculptural beauty. This example, identified as Model No. 75, faithfully represents the anatomy of the lily in bloom. The flower displays gracefully recurved petals highlighted with delicate red spotting, surrounding prominent stamens and pistil rendered with impressive botanical precision. Hand-painted in naturalistic tones, the model captures both the elegance and structural complexity of the species.
