About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V acid etched glass, English sterling silver and enamel cologne bottle; an addition to our silver mounted glass collection. This exceptional antique George V glass cologne bottle has a cylindrical rounded form. The glass bottle is fitted with a plain cylindrical hallmarked sterling silver mount to the neck. This antique cologne bottle retains the original push fit hallmarked circular cover embellished with a blue guilloche enamel panel. The enamel reflects a concentric ring design, emanating from the centre of the cover. The impressive glass body of the bottle is ornamented with acid etched ribbon bow and floral festoon decoration incorporating suspended woven basket designs. The bottle is further embellished with a star cut motif to the underside. The interior of the cover retains the original gilding and bears the retailer's mark 'Finnigans Ltd, 18 New Bond St. W'. Condition This antique cologne bottle is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The glass body and enamel panel are in perfect condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the cover and part hallmarks to the mount have wear in keeping with age and location, but remain legible. Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this antique silver and glassware.
