About the Item

This pair of Chinese export porcelain ginger jars decorated in the famille rose palette. They depict scenes of figures, children playing in a garden or courtly setting. The jars are painted using the famille rose (French for "pink family") enamel technique, which typically includes prominent pink, green, yellow, and blue colors. The hand-painted scenes feature human figures in traditional Chinese clothing engaged in activities, often referred to as a "boys at play" This Jars are identified as being from the late Qing dynasty or early Republic period (late 19th/early 20th century). They have Tong Zhi reign mark on the base. Size: 3in H x 1.75in D each Origin: China Circa: 1900 - 1920 Material: Porcelain Condition: Original condition, hand made, hand paint, normal age wear.
