About the Item

This pair is unique in that the one on the left depicts 'The Chainbridge', one of the first suspension bridges designed by Thomas Telford-Over the Menai Strait in Wales, circa 1870. The one on the right depicts 'The Ironbridge', the world’s first cast iron bridge (at present day the Ironbridge is near Coalbrookdale) completed in 1779 by Abraham Darby III.
