About the Item

A Grand Tour Bronze Reduction of the Albani Vase Finely Crafted version of the famous classical Marble urn found in the Villa Albani, Rome. The original with intricate bas relief scenes was highly admired by aristocratic travellers on their Grand Tours. These bronze reductions were created as prestigious souvenirs, allowing collectors to bring home a tangible piece of classical antiquity. This example is crisply cast and has a lovely patination showing a lightly forming verdigris. Rome, Circa 1890.
