This monumental 1900s Art Nouveau ceramic vase stands as a breathtaking example of early 20th-century Italian decorative art, perfectly embodying the organic, fluid elegance of the Stile Liberty period, the vase features an imposing, statuesque silhouette with a wide, bulbous base that tapers gracefully upwards before flaring into an openwork, pierced lattice collar at the rim. Sweeping, sculptural double handles frame the neck, seamlessly integrating into a dense high-relief display of hand-modeled horse chestnut leaves and textured seed pods, rendered in soft, earthy tones of sage green and muted rose pink. The front of the vase is dominated by a beautifully detailed, high-relief cluster of wisteria or lilac blossoms in vibrant shades of violet, lavender, and pink, which trail down into large, wrapping green leaves at the base, The craftsmanship is further emphasized by the tactile nature of the glaze and the intricate modeling around the upper neck. Turning the piece over reveals an authentic, incised production or model number, "7620," stamped into the unglazed underside of the ceramic base.
