An Art Deco baluster form fine earthenware vase, with stylised geometric motifs. Designed by Charles Catteau for Boch Frères Keramis. Printed marks. Circa late 1920's. A good size and attractive black and white vase with yellow and orange matte enamels over the white background. Black enameled interior. In very good condition with no damage. A small mark as shown. One of two Catteau vases listed.

Bronze vase by Nakajima Yasumi II (1905-1986), Showa period, Circa 1960-70. Patinated dark reddish brown, the vase has a slender waisted shape. The base cast with a seal-style signature, along with the inscribed Tomobako (Paulownia) wood storage box. In good condition, the vase shows some rubbing with handling and there is a small area of very minor marks. Please refer to the last photograph. The storage box is in very good condition. Born in Osaka, the eldest son of the well-known metal artist Nakajima Yasumi I, Yasumi II graduated from the Sendai National Crafting Academy in 1932. In 1933 he exhibited for the first time at the Export Crafts Exhibition, and went on to show his work several times outside Japan at the Grande Salon de Paris...
