About the Item

A hand-sculpted ceramic vase signed by the French ceramicists Dalo. Crafted from black iridescent glazed ceramic, the organic form silhouette features a stylized face with a finger peculiarly pointing at the mouth. French ceramists Daniel Derock and Loïc de Bailliencourt share a deep appreciation for 20th-century design, particularly post-war Art Deco from the 1950s to the 1980s. In 2007, they united their creative visions, producing ceramic works that embody figurative lines and a primitive aesthetic, championing themes of hope and solidarity.  Their pieces evoke the spirit of the Cloutier Brothers, Derval, and Picasso, utilizing diverse techniques such as turning, molding, and “colombinage”—the assembly of clay tubes to craft unique forms. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Signed 'Dalo' along the underside.
