About the Item

This pair of antique stoneware vases were done by the renowned potter, George Tinworth for the Doulton Lambeth factory of England in approximately 1880 in the period Victorian style. The vases are done with a deep cream ground with elaborate beaded scrolled decoration which accent the deep green leaves and flowers on the body of the vases. The top and base and done in a dark brown and each collar is decorated with a fern leaf styled motif. The inside of the vases are done in a cobalt blue glaze and both vases have impressed maker's marks for Doulton Lambeth England and scripted insignia for George Tinworth. These vases are large examples for these hand made vases, standing just over twenty inches in height.
