About the Item

This exquisite Danish Modern vase from the Tenera line by Royal Copenhagen (Aluminia) was designed by Inge-Lise Koefoed in the 1960s. The glazed ceramic vase features hand-painted motifs in shades of deep blue, purple, and shimmering pale yellows or golds against a pristine white background; embellished with round elements reminiscent of the captivating hues and speckles found in opal stones. In excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs, while the presence of age-related crazing adds an authentic charm. A true testament to Koefoed's artistic legacy and RC's enduring craftsmanship. As a design object, the vase effortlessly complements a wide range of interior decor styles, from a mid-century modern space, to adding a touch of Scandinavian design, or serving as a statement piece in a contemporary setting. Inge-Lise Kofoed (1939-) was an artist at Royal Copenhagen's faience and stoneware department under Nils Thorsson. She was one of the artists behind the well-known stoneware and faience series from the 1960s and 1970s.
