About the Item

This miniature, collectible stoneware vase was designed by Gunnar Borg for the Swedish manufacture Höganäs Keramik during the 1960s. Handmade by a Master, with the utmost care and attention to details. The vase is colored in irregular shades of brown, glazed. Signed by the author, the manufacturer's brand and an individual number (13). Gunnar Borg (1926 - 2007) is still one of the leading representatives of Scandinavian ceramic design of the 20th century. Known for miniature, handmade ceramic and stoneware objects, mainly vases. He also created lamp bases, cups, decorative bowls and ashtrays. He started his career at the age of 14 at Andersson & Johansson in Höganäs. From 1940, he worked there for the next 28 years. The artist's creativity and craftsmanship can be seen in every item. In 1968, Borg founded his own workshop, where he operated until his death. Höganäs Keramik formerly AJ Andersson & Johansson Keramik was founded in 1909 by Johannes Olofsson and Sigfrid Johansson. Modern household appliances have taken an indisputable place in the history of Swedish design. Famous ceramicists at AJ/Höganäs included John Andersson, Anne Nilsson, Rolf Palm and Lisa Larrson, and Gunnar Borg. It is currently a design company and part of the Iittala Group, a Finnish art glass company. This vase is in original vintage condition. The colors of the products shown in the photos may differ slightly from the actual ones. This is due to individual monitor settings and lighting conditions – the photos were taken in artificial light, which may affect the perception of colors. However, we strive to ensure that the photos reflect the actual appearance of the product as faithfully as possible. The offer may include photos of item in the living space, but these are for illustrative purposes only.
