About the Item

Rare cylindrical ceramic vase is decorated with blue and white drip glaze; lower part of the base is left unglazed to showcase the natural color of the clay. Sculptural, graphic vase in colors of Nordic sky is a beautiful example of Mid-Century Modern Scandinavian design. The vase is signed on the bottom in handwriting with "Valholm Made in Denmark". According to Trade Registers, Valholm Keramik was established by Viggo Frederik Jensen and Per Weisenfeldt Jensen in 1968; both were residents of Frederiksberg. Per Weisenfeldt Jensen was the main designer of the company.
