Exceptional 1950s Vallauris Pitcher by Robert Auguste & Gyn Gausserand (aka Gilberte Auguste) Beautiful ceramic pitcher crafted by the duo Robert Auguste and Gyn Gausserand (also known as Gilberte Auguste). Rounded form coated in a white glazed finish.black and red face motif, enhanced by incised scarifications carved directly into the glaze. The design borders on the abstract, blending modernist expression with the distinctive aesthetic that made Vallauris ceramics so sought-after in the mid-century period. Both sculptural and functional, this pitcher is a superb example of the couple’s collaboration and a fine representation of the artistic energy of postwar French ceramics. Signed under the base.
