About the Item

A rare pair of early 20th-century Chinese cocktail shakers by Kut Hing, one of the most esteemed Swatow pewterware makers. Known for their intricate craftsmanship, these shakers feature hand-engraved dragon motifs—an emblem of power and prosperity in Chinese tradition. Each piece is composed of three parts: a canister, a strainer top, and a fitted cup. The double-thickness pewter base enhances durability, while the markings on the underside authenticate their origin. These substantial, finely detailed shakers exemplify the artistry of Swatow pewter and make a striking addition to any collection of barware or decorative metalwork. Wear consistent with age and use. There are a few dents in the canister and strainer, but all pieces fit together. These dents, combined with various spots and scratches, are normal signs of age and use for antique barware. This fine piece is in beautiful, vintage condition.
