About the Item

A pair of Baccarat 'Colbert' pattern cut glass / crystal decanters or 'carafes'. The Baccarat 'Colbert' decanter and corresponding stemware service were introduced around 1908. The pattern was popular with Russian clientele in the early 20th century, with pieces featured in the 1916 Baccarat catalog. While the exact discontinuation date is not widely documented, production of this pattern is generally considered to be from the early 1900s, with many vintage pieces dating from the 1930s to the 1950s. This particular pair was produced after 1936 as older models do not have acid etched Baccarat marks on the base, as these do.
