About the Item

An imposing ceramic vase signed Joseph Mougin, Nancy, dating from the 1920s, "honeycomb" model. It is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips, in beautiful shades of blue. Rare model in this size and color. Joseph Mougin, born on June 8, 1876 in Nancy and died in the same city on November 8, 1961, was a French ceramist. With his brother Pierre Mougin (1880-1955), he formed a duo of ceramists and sculptors, known as the "Mougin brothers" Work of equally fine quality as other well-known French ceramists such as Roger Capron, Robert Picault, Robert Pérot, Gilbert Valentin, Juliette Derel, Gilbert Portanier, Jean Rivier, Suzanne Ramié, Michel Anasse, Alexandre Kostanda, Roger Collet, Albert Thiry, Georges Jouve
