About the Item

A magnificent Set of 12 Antique George IV Soup Plates in a classic shaped circular form and featuring a Rococo Revival style border showing an intricate Shell and Foliate design repeating. Each Silver Soup Plate has two engraved armorials appearing opposite each other on the rim. The engraved coat of arms is that of Jacob Astley, 16th Baron Hastings (1797–1859) with the family motto Justitiae Tenax (Tenacious of Justice), the blazon out of a Ducal coronet and a plume of five ostrich feathers We also have the matching set of 12 Dinner Plates listed in our store. Made in London, England in 1820 by Edward Farrell. Approx. Total Weight - 9104g / 292.7oz Approx. Diameter - 26.6cm / 10.5 inches STOCK CODE - GEO01 DIN01
