About the Item

This stoneware dish was designed by Tyra Lundgren and produced by Rörstrand in the early 1930s, a period closely linked to the development of Scandinavian modern ceramics. Executed in high-fired stoneware, the dish is finished with a blue underglaze that shifts subtly across the surface, lending depth and variation to the glaze while allowing the form to remain the primary focus. Created during Lundgren’s tenure at Rörstrand in the late 1920s and early 1930s, the dish reflects the manufactory’s move towards a more sculptural and modern design language. The Rörstrand mark together with Lundgren’s signature firmly situates the piece within this formative moment in Swedish ceramic production. Signed *TL Rörstrand*, it stands as a restrained and enduring example of Lundgren’s work from the period.
