About the Item

In the Aesthetic taste, a Wedgwood majolica sea food plate, showing a raised lobster on a bed of yellow and green seaweed against a turquoise blue ground, England – late 19th Century. The outer rim is dotted with raised root vegetables, radishes, carrots and leeks, along with their greens. A dove gray trim on the inner and outer rims. Beautiful soft glazing in the Argenta manner. Marked with the impressed Wedgwood, date code letters, and a red iron oxide painters mark – 2928 7. 8.5 in. Diameter. x .75 in. H Very good antique condition with a sliver of loss to the rim at 1:00, likely from a plate hanger.
