About the Item

Giberto grew up with rigà-menà pitchers on the table. The technique, traditional to Murano, involves streaking, turning, and pulling the molten glass in a single unbroken gesture, the ridges worked in opposing directions until the surface takes on a life of its own. No two pieces are identical. The movement is decided in the making, and it doesn't repeat. This version is blown in Murano green, deep, a little luminous, with a pink rim heat-sealed by hand onto the cooled glass. A detail that asks real skill of the maker and gives the jug its particular lightness, the sense that something considered happened here, right at the edge. As Giberto recalls: "The thin ridges seem to bring the glass itself to life, catching reflections and making even its contents appear effervescent and fresh. That's why I called this jug Fizzy." Built for daily use. Easy to love for much longer.
