About the Item
This is an exceptionally rare piece of 1" thick Starphire Ultra-Clear low-iron glass by Vitro Architectural Glass, one of the most premium glass products available in the architectural and design market. Starphire glass is distinguished from standard clear glass by its near-complete absence of the green tint inherent in conventional glass, offering unparalleled optical clarity and true color transmission. At 1" thickness this piece far exceeds the standard maximum of ¾" and represents a genuinely uncommon find. The short ends feature beveled edges while the long sides are polished flat, showcasing the material's signature luminous azure blue edge; A hallmark of authentic Starphire glass visible along the perimeter. Made in the United States, circa 21st century. This beautiful large piece of glass has never been used and 1” Starphire is no longer manufactured.
Beveled on the 36” edge and flat polish on the 79.125” edge.
No visible markings are present on this panel.
This panel is in excellent condition. A protective plastic film covers the front face and should be removed upon installation.
It would be a magnificent beveled glass tabletop for dining or a large console. This Starphire glass panel would make a commanding centerpiece in any contemporary or transitional interior. Its scale, optical purity, and exceptional thickness make it equally suited to a high-design residential setting or any installation. The panel is ideally suited for use as a dining table top, console top, or divided into two console applications on a metal or wooden base. Could be cut into two 18” x 79” consoles / Also could be cut into 36” x 36.5” consoles. It’s clarity dramatically shows a sculpted or clean-lined base of any style.
