About the Item

Red-colored Murano glass dish with a diameter of 32.5 cm and a height of 6 cm. Made in the very early years of the 20th century, a period when it was not customary to affix production or attribution marks, the object therefore lacks an identifying signature or label. The plate has a broad, slightly concave shape with a thin rim and regular profile. The surface is characterized by a uniform red hue, typical of Murano blown glass craftsmanship. On the back is a coeval metal frame, applied to allow it to be displayed on the wall. The object is made according to traditional Murano glass techniques, an artistic production developed on the Venetian island since the 13th century. The overall state of preservation is good; there are slight signs of wear consistent with age and normal use.
