About the Item

Antique English Minton majolica jug/pitcher, circa 1870. A very handsome majolica jug, with a cobalt blue background, the spout of the jug is decorated with a yellow glazed mask of a gentleman. The neck having ring turning below a scrolled handle, the globular shaped body decorated with raised yellow glazed four leaf clover devices. The jug stands on a raised ring turned foot, the underside with a full set of impressed marks including "Minton", model number "596" and an impressed date cypher and decorator's mark. Condition is excellent, no damage or restoration.
