About the Item

Elegant couple costumed in Empire style: The lady in a dress that softly hugs the body with a high waist that sits just below the bust, a short cape covering the neckline and shoulders, ruffled hems, flat ballerina shoes, hat with bow and floral decoration on the blond hair that falls in long curls, the gentleman in long tight pants, turned-up boots, shirt with bow under a vest and frock coat, a Napoleonic bicorne on the long thick blond hair. Based on a fluted oval base with marbling and gold rims. Designed by Heinrich GOESCHL (1839 - 1996) Genre sculptor, studied at the academy in Munich, pupil of Max Widnmann, 1870 in Rome, works in bronze and ivory, the Meissen manufactory acquired six models in 1880-1882. Model K 162 was created 1876.
