About the Item

This is a 19th century English set of fish serving fork and knife. They could be or could not be sterling silver, but I am unable to test them. Their handles are made of ivory like material and their tops are shaped as scrolls of acanthus leaves. The silver metal like blade and root area of both pieces are pierced with scrolls and dots. They are also engraved delicately with several branches of leaves. Both of them are hallmarked, but the fully hallmarks can not be identified. The two characters letters are gothic style, so most likely they were done in England or in one of their colonies. They are in their original grey blue satin and royal blue velvet fabrics lined oval brown box. The length of the fork and knife are 9.5” and 13.2”, respectively. Their width are 2”.
