About the Item

A whimsically refined Jugendstil German silver plate coffee and tea service with tray, designed by Albert Mayer for WMF and retailed by Casa Costa, Argentina. The Art Nouveau set consists of a coffee pot, tea pot, sugar pot and cream pot, and tray. Each pot of beehive form featuring a quatre-band design interrupted by tear drop shaped shield bosses. The fitted lids topped by a stylized "Tree of Life" finial. The high, arched handles gracefully following the form of the pots and insulated with an attractive woven rattan. The service rests upon an elegant, fan-shaped rosewood tray with silver plate handles. Measurements: Tray 28.5"W, 16" D. Coffee pot 8.75" High including handle, 8" W. Tea pot 8.5" high including handle, 7.25" W. Sugar pot 6.25" high including handle, 4.75" W. Creamer 5.75" high including handle, 4.5" W.
