About the Item

Sculptural Organic Modern carved wooden salad serving set features a pair of utensils with rounded forms, influenced by Mid Century Modern and Minimalist Styles, with soft, flowing outlines and tactile handles. One of the utensils has an oval cutout in the middle, adding a slight variation in form to the set. The minimal design of the utensils accentuates the beautiful natural grain of the wood and the craftsmanship of the carver. The set is in good vintage condition with beautiful, age-appropriate patina on the wood. It is marked with "Made in Haiti" on the reverse of one of the utensils. We are offering other pieces by Auld in various woods in separate listings. The set will make a perfect addition to a wide range of tablescapes and interiors, from Traditional to Mid Century Modern, Transitional, Organic Modern, Japandi, English Cottage, Modern Country, Neo Deco, Modern Heritage, Collected, Eclectic, or Contemporary. David Auld is an American artist who moved to Haiti in 1960s and started a woodcarving studio, utilizing various species of wood available locally in his designs.
