EDWARDS & BALL (Henry Edwards and Edward John Ball, Silversmiths, High Street, Birmingham - active late 1830's to 1840's) - Fine quality pair of antique Neoclassical style sterling silver salt cellars with parcel-gilt wells and associated spoons (one spoon signed W.H.L. for William Henry Leather, Birmingham, circa 1900 - no marks to the other spoon) - late Regency or early Victorian period - each shell shaped cellar bowl is raised on three cast dolphin feet - each spoon with shell shaped bowls and ball finials - full British sterling silver hallmarks in the bowl of each cellar - contained in the original velvet and satin lined leather clad fitted retail presentation box - United Kingdom (Birmingham) - circa 1838. Excellent antique condition - both spoons by different makers - gold wash faded and thinning in areas - no loss - no damage - no repairs - tarnishing and minor surface scratches - the retail presentation box with scuffs and scratches to the leather, minor stains to the satin lining and wear / loss to the velvet lining - signs of age and use. Size / Dimensions - 2 3/8" Wide x 2 3/8" Deep x 1 3/8" High (Each). Box Size / Dimensions - 7 1/2" Wide x 3 3/4" Deep x 1 3/4" High. Weight - 50 Grams (Cellars Only).
