About the Item

A fine vintage Italian silver & enamel box. In .800 silver. By Bausi Bruno (or A. Bausi & Figli di Mario Bausi) of Firenze, Italy. With enameled eyes with black pupils and red sclera. Hinged at the fish's nose and openable by one of the tail fins as a handle. With Italian hallmarks to one of the tail fins. Simply a wonderful Italian Modernist design! Date: 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is a slight smile between the halves (meaning they do not close entirely flush), a slight lean to one side, and some small spots of loss to the red enamel. Otherwise, there are a few light dings and indentions, some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: By Bausi Bruno (or A. Bausi & Figli di Mario Bausi) of Firenze. Marks: Marked to one of the tail fins with .800 / 8 FI (Bausi Bruno's maker's hallmark). Fineness: Marked .800 for .800 silver fineness. Measurements: Length: ca. 3 3/8 in. Height: ca. 1 1/4 in. Width: ca. 2 1/4 in. Weight: ca. 35.4 g Items purchased from this dealer must delight you.
