About the Item

A magnificent oversized Antique Irish George III Silver Lidded Tankard. This Georgian Silver Tankard has a classic baluster shape with a bellied body and standing on a spread pedestal foot. The Irish Tankard has a domed lid with a scrolled thumbpiece which sits above a substantial scroll handle. The Tankard has a substantial armorial engraved opposite the handle. This Tankard is of unusually large size and weight. Made in Dublin, Ireland in 1783 by Thomas Jones. Approx. Weight - 1410g / 45.34oz Approx. Height to Thumb Piece - 24.2cm Approx. Height to Rim - 19cm Approx. Diameter at Base - 12.6cm This Irish Silver Tankard has a full Irish Hallmark on the body and is part marked on the hinged lid. This Georgian Beer Tankard is in excellent condition with no damage and a lovely patina commensurate with age and use. STOCK CODE - GEO01 IRI01 WIN01
