About the Item

This exquisite mezuzah case, crafted in Israel in the early to mid-20th century, showcases the masterful artistry of traditional Judaica. The case is adorned with intricate filigree scrollwork along its edges and sides, reflecting the delicate craftsmanship of the period. At its heart, a striking Star of David takes center stage, beautifully accented with deep, dark blue enamel in its corners and a radiant sky blue enamel filling the central circle, adding a vibrant contrast. Above the Star of David, a small, circular filigree-framed window offers a glimpse of the sacred parchment (klaf) within, emphasizing the mezuzah’s spiritual significance. The mezuzah case features a removable top for easy insertion and removal of the scroll, ensuring both practicality and elegance in its design. What makes this piece particularly unique is the heartfelt dedication engraved on the reverse, which reads in Hebrew: "מזכרת אהבה מהאחים מאנשעוויטץ" – "A loving memento from the Manschewitz brothers." This personal touch adds a layer of history and meaning, making it a truly special collectible. .34ozt
