About the Item

A Russian silver spoon with enamel by Vasily Semyonov Agafonov, made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917. The spoon is made of 84 zolotnik silver, equivalent to 875 standard silver. The bowl of the spoon is decorated with colorful enamel ornament in blue, turquoise, green, red, white and purple tones. The handle has a twisted silver section and an enamel-decorated upper part. The top of the handle is finished with a decorative Russian double-headed eagle. This silver enamel spoon is a good example of Russian decorative silver from the early 20th century. It has a strong traditional Russian appearance and would be suitable for a collection of Russian silver, enamel work or decorative spoons.
