About the Item

Tiffany & Co silver mug of circular form with flared rim and tied gift ribbon decoration. I believe due to size this is probably a child's mug/christening mug. Engraved with initials and inscribed to base Tiffany & Co 925 Spain, The size is approx. 6cm high, whilst the weight is 80 g approx., presented in box tiffany box. Still with ribbon and tissue paper In very good condition no dents etc just some minor usual signs of age/use. Apologies for any reflections in photos provenance Hicks Beach Estate. This piece along with many originate from Williamstrip, Coln St Aldwyn, family seat from 1788 to 2008 and thereafter Mill House, Coln St Aldwyn. Sir Michael Hicks Beach, Bt, succeeded his father as 9th Baronet of Beverston in 1854. He became a Conservative Member of Parliament in 1864 and served twice as Chancellor of the Exchequer, from 1885 to 1886 and again from 1895 to 1902. In 1906 he was raised to the peerage as Viscount St Aldwyn and in 1915 became the first Earl St Aldwyn
